There are facilitators involved in the project who can assist with both the community anglers and outside visitors to the area. Some of the facilitators are able to teach beginner anglers with basic rigging of equipment, casting and release of caught fish. They are also there to oversee the river clean-up operation, booking of fishing for visitors and managing catch returns & equipment. They are involved in arranging group fly tying sessions, first aiders when required and encouraging general fly fishing spirit within the community.
“I like Fishing and I also like Conservation as I love animals and studying about inserts( Entomology). I like to meet people of different kinds, culture, experiences and communicate. I always believe that all that will give more to myself as well as my community , to put our village Thendela on the Global Map.
I have been given a chance to learn more and have a proper knowledge and understanding of Fly Fishing and this gave me a great impression of starting the Conservation project for my community. We have pristine water that everyone would have no doubt enjoy to fish and even drink one way.
There is a possibility of being one of the best fly fishing service providers, we also have the potential to open a Fly tying factory and offer employment to many people in our community.”

“I like to fish a lot and it is great meeting different people of same interest . A trip to Cape Town for Senior B National competition meant a lot to me. The project offered my community great support by River cleaning and our environment is more than healthy now.
Guiding opportunities seem to be growing and chances of Fly tying factory are growing up which is going to be a great achievement to my community.”
