Guiding is available on the Mooi River in the Thendela beats as well as in the adjoining Kamberg Reserve. The guides can direct you to your beats, suggest the best access and safe parking areas. For new anglers, they can assist with rigging your equipment and advising on leader set up before you get going. There is also a small Wildfly shop at the Community centre for any essential items or to simply add something special to your armoury.
A disabled friendly section for fly fishers is currently under consideration due to the sections of suitable access and fishing for wheelchair anglers. Disabled anglers will be looked after by trained guides who can assist with netting fish and moving wheelchairs on the terrain. Another exclusive fishing initiative to be offered by the Thendela facilitators.
Guiding is also available, through arrangement with the Thendela guides, on the Bushmans River. The Bushmans river section which meanders through the Hlatikhulu tribal trust lands offers some fantastic fishing for wild brown trout of, rainbow trout and our indigenous yellowfish. The guides will arrange access through the tribal chiefs and ensure you are safe and well looked after. Don’t be surprised to have some curious onlookers whilst you enjoy this unique fishing area!
