Some of the Thendela anglers have taken their skills to another level through participation in the KZNFFA organized structure at both Youth and Senior level, thus having been included in teams that have participated at National events. They have enjoyed the opportunity to travel and fish in different areas of South Africa.

In 2017, Youth angler Thembinkosi Ngxongo was a member of the KZNFFA federation team and achieved a Bronze medal in the Individual results of the SAFFA National Championship held in the Western Cape. That’s a phenomenal achievement for this young angler.

Also in 2017, Trevor Sithole won the Individual Gold medal at the SAFFA B Senior National Championship on the  Vaal River. Another great achievement for the anglers from Thendela. Trevor has since goneon to become a renowned fishing guide, operating guiding seasons with outfitters in both Seychelles and Bolivia.

A team from the Thendela community have also been enjoying annual sponsored entry into the renowned Kamberg Festival which is held every year on local trout waters of the surrounding Kamberg district in KZN.
